“Lord, we call out to you on behalf of our province today. We ask for your hand of protection on our forests, towns, First Nation’s communities, and all residents. We also pray for the safety of every firefighter on the frontlines and wisdom for the managers at BC Wildfire Services. As Elijah did long ago, we bow our faces to the ground and ask you would sent the rains, together with calm winds and cooling temperatures to our province. We pray these things in Jesus’ name – AMEN!
“The B.C. government declared a state of emergency across the province Friday due to extreme fire conditions. Evacuations have been ordered for Cache Creek and areas around 100 Mile House and Ashcroft. Other wildfires were reported near Williams Lake, Quesnel, and Princeton. Hot, dry weather is predicted in the coming days. The last time the province declared a state of emergency was in 2003. That was also because of wildfires.” Source: Postmedia News
