1 Timothy 2:1–2 CSB
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
Heavenly Father, today we begin several weeks of prayer for British Columbia. Thank You for this remarkable province we call home — for its people, communities, beauty, resources and opportunities. As British Columbians prepare to make important choices about those who will lead us, turn our attention beyond political parties and personalities toward the well-being of our province and our neighbours. Give us wisdom to listen carefully, humility to consider perspectives other than our own, and discernment as we make important decisions. Guard our province from division, anger and fear. Help candidates and political leaders to speak truthfully, act honourably and seek to serve the people who have entrusted them with responsibility. Lord, we entrust British Columbia and its future to You. BC, we pray. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
