Hon. Uzoma Asagwara, Union Station

Dear Father, I am grateful for MLA Uzoma Asagwara and their many initiatives to reach out to those around them. I ask that you give them a glimpse of your mercy and grace in their life. You love them far more than anyone else ever could and care for them deeply. Please help them to see your light and be drawn to you. As they carry out their many duties and decisions, grant them wisdom and discernment in their work. May they rest well and wake up refreshed to face each new day. I pray all of this with thanksgiving, in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Uzoma Asagwara was first elected as the MLA for Union Station in 2019, when Uzoma became the first non-binary MLA in the Manitoba legislature and one of the first black MLAs elected in Manitoba’s history. Uzoma served as the official opposition critic for health and as an MLA, passed a bill to recognize Somali Heritage Week. Before becoming an MLA,  Asagwara was a psychiatric nurse, addictions specialist and community advocate.
