MLA Brooks Arcand-Paul, Edmonton-West Henday

Heavenly Father, please hear my prayer for Mr. Brooks Arcand-Paul. Thank you so much for Brooks and his work in Alberta and the Edmonton-West Henday region. Thank you for forming Brooks into the leader that he is today. I pray that you would bless him with discernment and humility in dealing with the indigenous community, as well as championing for better public education and healthcare. Guide and direct his paths according to your will. Keep Brooks and his family safe and healthy in the coming year. In Jesus’ name, amen.

 

Brooks Arcand-Paul was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton-West Henday on May 29, 2023. Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, he was the in-house legal counsel for the Alexander First Nation in Treaty Six territory of Alberta. MLA Arcand-Paul held Associate positions at MLT Aikins (Edmonton) and Eagle Law Group (Tsuut’ina Nation). Before taking a position as a summer student with the Attorney General of Ontario (Toronto), MLA Arcand-Paul worked as a research assistant at Alexander First Nation and as an officer with Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta in First Nations education. He founded the National Indigenous Law Students’ Association in 2016, and held the positions of secretary, treasurer and vice-president as a student representative at the Indigenous Bar Association in Canada between 2014 to 2022. More recently, he volunteered with the Alexander First Nation working on law development until 2019. MLA Arcand-Paul has received both the Aboriginal Role Models of Alberta Award, and the Queen’s Jubilee Platinum Medal, in 2016 and 2022 respectively.
