MLA: Dan Ashton – Penticton (Demo)

Lord, we pray for MLA: Dan Ashton. Please continue enabling this man to do a great job for all those he serves. We thank You for his commitment to governing issues in our province. We wish him the best of advisers around him to help guide him through issues and challenges. May those working with him also do well in their respective roles. You know our every thought and that at times we may need some extra strength and wisdom; so may he be encouraged that others do care and are praying for him. We thank You for Dan Ashton’s work in the name of Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Dan Ashton was elected MLA for Penticton on May 14, 2013.

He was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister Responsible for Core Review on June 7, 2013. He is the vice-chair of the Cabinet Working Group on Core Review, and a member of the Treasury Board.

Before being elected as an MLA, Dan served two terms as Mayor of the City of Penticton following three consecutive terms as a Councillor. He served ten terms as Chair of the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen, and spent four years as a trustee on the Municipal Finance Authority.

While Dan was born in Edmonton, his family moved to Penticton two weeks after his birth and he considers himself a proud Okanaganite. The Ashton family business was retail, with locations in the Okanagan, Kootenays and the Lower Mainland.

Dan and his wife Monique have two children, Coleton and Chantal. The Ashton family prides itself on being active in the community.
