MLA: Hon. Steve Thomson – Kelowna-Mission – Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (Demo)

Father, We thank You for the dedication that the Honorable Steve Thomson shows in all that he does concerning our province. We are thankful for the many years he has been involved in the field of agriculture and land usage and the valuable experience he has gained. We ask that you would bless, lead and guide him as he makes decisions that affect our physical environment and land use. We also pray that You would bring him people that are trustworthy, encouraging and have wise council. In the name of Jesus, we pray these things. Amen.

Steve Thomson was re-elected to represent the riding of Kelowna-Mission in 2013 and was reappointed as the Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource. He currently chairs the Environment and Land Use Committee and is a member of the Treasury Board.

Previously, he served as Minister of Energy and Minister of Agriculture and Lands.

Steve is the former executive director of the BC Agriculture Council and has spent his career working on behalf of British Columbian farmers and ranchers. He has served as general manager of the BC Fruit Growers Association and the BC Milk Producers Association. He has also served as a director of the Kelowna Museum, the Okanagan Innovation Fund and the BC BioEnergy Network.

He has a great love of sports and had a long career in rugby including the opportunity to play for the Canadian National Rugby Team. His current interests include golf, gardening and being an ardent rugby fan.

Steve is a husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife Brenda have three children and five grandchildren.
