Our Father in Heaven, we pray earnestly for MLA: Hon. Teresa Wat. You have said in Your Holy Word “pray for our leaders” and certainly it is Your Will for us to do this. Please help Minister Wat in all the work she endeavors to do and may You see that she receives daily encouragement. May she also find refreshing times after busy days in the world of government. Teresa Wat was elected to represent the riding of Richmond Centre on May 14, 2013. She was appointed Minister for International Trade and Minister Responsible for the Asia Pacific Strategy and Multiculturalism on June 10, 2013.

She also serves as a member of the Cabinet Committee on Strong Economy and the Priorities and Planning Committee.

Teresa was the president and CEO of Mainstream Broadcasting Corporation CHMB AM1320 and has also served as the news director at Channel M Television (now OMNI TV), and previously served as a communications advisor at B.C.’s Cabinet Policy and Communications Secretariat.

Teresa was instrumental in the launch of B.C.’s first-ever live Cantonese, Mandarin and Punjabi daily television news programs. In 2013, Teresa received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award for her community service work. In 2010, she was appointed to the Canadian Women Voters Congress Advisory Board and was recognized as one of B.C.’s top 100 most influential women by the Vancouver
