Heavenly Father, we thank you today for MLA Ian Wishart, and ask that you would bless him abundantly. Thank you for his dedication to serving the people of Manitoba and Portage la Prairie. Give him fresh insight into all he does, and may you guide him to make the right choices, especially as he helps lead reviews of the education system. Bless his family as well we pray in Jesus’ name. Ian Wishart was first elected as the MLA for Portage la Prairie in 2011 and re-elected in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Ian served in cabinet as Minister of Education and Training. Currently, Ian is the Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Education and Training with specific responsibilities to lead our government’s comprehensive review of the K-12 education system in Manitoba. Ian lives on the fourth generation family farm just north of Portage la Prairie with his wife Leslie and their two children.
