MLA Irfan Sabir, Calgary-McCall

Father in heaven, you call us to pray for our leaders, so today we bring before you MLA Irfan Sabir. We thank you for him, his willingness to lead, and his commitment to help those who are in need. Would you encourage him today, Lord. Surround him with supportive people who will cheer him on to keep going when he wants to give up. May he feel your joy today. Thank you for his family as well, and we ask that you would fill them with peace today. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Irfan Sabir was re-elected for his second term in 2019. Prior to serving, Mr. Sabir practiced in aboriginal law at a national law firm in Calgary beginning in 2012. Previous to this, he worked as a research assistant with the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary (U of C). He also worked with the Salvation Army for five years. Mr. Sabir has volunteered with Calgary Legal Guidance and Canadian Red Cross. He holds a juris doctor degree from the U of C, has a degree in social work from the U of C and a degree in economics from the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Pakistan. Born in Pakistan, he has called Calgary home since 2004.
