Father, we lift up MLA: Jackie Tegart to You today. We thank You for the heart of a servant you have given to her and the diligence with which she serves her constituents. We thank You, Father, for giving her foresight and increasing the depth of her understanding and vision so that the people of British Columbia will prosper in all ways. We pray, also, that you would keep her and her family in excellent health. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Jackie Tegart was elected as MLA for Fraser-Nicola on May 14, 2013.
She currently serves as a member of the Cabinet Committee on Secure Tomorrow, and the Environment and Land Use Committee.
Prior to being elected as MLA, Jackie served three terms on Ashcroft council. She was a school board member for 17 years, serving as chair for 15 of those years. She is also a former President of the BC School Trustees Association.
Jackie was the facilitator for BC Healthy Communities’ Interior Region, the coordinator for Community Futures, which plays a significant role in entrepreneurial and community development, and was a partner in Painted Ladies Gallery and Gifts.
Jackie was born in Princeton and has lived in Ashcroft for 50 years. She has four children with her late husband, and nine grandchildren.
