MLA: Jane Jae Kyung Shin – Burnaby-Lougheed (Demo)

Our Father God, we pray for MLA: Jane Shin in her government role. Lord we know that You will be her daily help because You are always there for the people who You have as our leaders. Give her good physical health and vitality and may she feel extra strength from You. We thank You that Jane Shin cares about her community and the job she is doing. May she continue diligently working to bring forward positive change. Give her wisdom as she balances her public and private life and may all her efforts prosper. Thanks be to You, Lord, as we pray in the name of Your Son, the resurrected Jesus Christ. Amen.

Jane Shin was elected as the MLA for Burnaby-Lougheed in May 2013.

Jane serves as Deputy Opposition Spokesperson for Deputy Trade, Immigration, and Multiculturalism.

She is the first Canadian of Korean descent elected to the provincial legislature in B.C.

Jane was born in South Korea and immigrated to Canada when she was 11 years old. She has been actively involved in community service from a young age, volunteering for organizations such as Canadian Red Cross Society and the Multicultural Society of B.C. She was recognized by the City of Surrey for her work.

Jane Shin is an educator and entrepreneur with strong ties in the medical and business communities.

Jane holds a medical doctorate degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in St. Lucia. She is a healthcare educator who has taught at British Columbia Institute of Technology, Vancouver Community College and the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.

Jane is an avid fisher and environmentalist, and lives in Burnaby.
