MLA Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse, Edmonton-Rutherford

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, you entrusted humans to be stewards of the earth. (Genesis 2:15) You promised to bless that action. In the same way, we ask for special wisdom for Member Jodi Calihoo Stonehouse, MLA for Edmonton Rutherford and her work with resource stewardship. We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton-Rutherford on May 29, 2023. Prior to joining the Legislative Assembly, Member Calahoo Stonehouse led the Yellowhead Indigenous Education Foundation as the executive director from 2019 to 2023. She was a steward at Edmonton Shift Lab until 2023 as well. Member Calahoo Stonehouse worked with the University of Alberta (U of A) in faculty development and community relations for the Faculty of Law. From 2016 to 2017 she acted as the executive director of the World Indigenous Games, and she also acted as the community engagement and reconciliation adviser, again at the U of A, in the office of the provost. Born and raised in Edmonton, Member Calahoo Stonehouse is part of the Michel First Nation and is Cree and Mohawk. Powwows, round dances, sun dances, night lodges and giveaways are important parts of her life. She enjoys spending time with her kids, their dog and her extended family, among many other activities.
