MLA: John Yap – Richmond-Steveston (Demo)

God, we thank you for Richmond Steveston MLA: John Yap in his service to our province, his constituency and community. Grant him wisdom and discernment to help meet the needs of our growing and ever-changing province. Allow him to see others through your eyes and base his decisions accordingly. On May 14th 2013, John Yap was re-elected to a third term as MLA for Richmond-Steveston.

He was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General for Liquor Policy Reform and serves on the Cabinet Committee for a Strong Economy, as well as the committee for Legislative Review.

John Yap served as Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism from September 5, 2012 to March 2013.

Previously, John served as the Minister of State for Climate Action and as the chair of the Government Caucus. He was also a member of the Treasury Board and the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Review. John also served on several Select Standing Committees including Public Accounts, Crown Corporations, as well as Finance and Government Services. He has also served as a member of the Special Committee on Sustainable Aquaculture.

John attended the University of British Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and obtained his Masters of Business Administration.
