Thank you Lord for MLA Lori Sigurdson. May she know today how much she is loved by you, and we pray that any needs she is facing in life today would be met by you. Give her peace in decision making and help her to always stand up and fight for what his right. Bless her family and protect them in all they do. Amen.

Lori Sigurdson was elected in 2015 and re-elected on April 16, 2019. She currently serves the deputy chair of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities. During her first term she serve as Minister of Innovation and Advanced Education, Minister of Jobs, Skills, Training and Labour, and as Minister of Seniors and Housing. Throughout her 25-year career as a social worker, she worked in many fields, including child welfare, mental health, community development, and social policy. She was also an instructor of social work at the University of Calgary, MacEwan University and NorQuest College. In recognition of her outstanding contributions Ms. Sigurdson was awarded the John Hutton Memorial Award for social action and policy in 2017. The mother of three sons, Ms. Sigurdson is committed to community service. She has served as the Vice President of Public Interest Alberta, and has been involved with the Parkland Institute, the Greater Edmonton Alliance, the Mayor’s Task Force for the Elimination of Poverty, and others. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alberta as well as bachelor and master of social work degrees from the University of Calgary.
