Father, we thank you today for MLA Martin Long. We pray that you would fill him with strength and courage to do the right thing and to stand up for what is right, especially for those who are often overlooked. Fill him with peace as he deals with difficult decisions and situations. Bless his family, may they be united and strengthened by your amazing love. We pray this all in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Martin Long was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of West Yellowhead, on April 16, 2019. Prior to his election Mr. Long worked as an operator for Alberta Newsprint in Whitecourt for nine years. Originally from Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Mr. Long earned his third-class power engineer certificate in 2015. His community involvement includes serving as board chair for Tennille’s Hope Kommunity Kitchen in Whitecourt and as a youth leader with Whitecourt Baptist Church. He and his wife, Vanessa, have two children. In his free time he enjoys golf, hockey, downhill skiing and working around his acreage
