Lord, today we pray for MLA Mary Polak, as you have called her to continue to serve the riding of Langley. We give thanks, Lord, for her faithful and diligent service in various ministries and capacities over the past 12 years, and we pray that you would grant her insight and discernment as she considers the best way to serve not only the constituents of her Langley riding, but also as a conscientious member of the opposition in our provincial legislature this year. Bless Mary with health, energy and wisdom in this coming year.
Mary Polak was re-elected as MLA for Langley in 2017, having represented the constituents of Langley since 2005.
Mary has acted as vice-chair of the Environment and Land Use Committee and as a member of both the Cabinet Working Group on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and the Priorities and Planning Committee.
Previously, she served as Minister of Health, Minister of Environment, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Minister of Children and Family Development and Responsible for Child Care, Minister of Healthy Living and Sport, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health.
Before being elected to the Legislature, Mary served as a trustee and chair of the Surrey school board.
