MLA: Mike Bernier – Peace River South (Demo)

Father, we are very thankful for the Hon. Mike Bernier and the excellence in which he executes the duties involved in his portfolio as Minister of Education. We are aware that there are many sensitive issues he faces, and so we ask for an increase in wisdom and understanding so that he can successfully navigate any obstacle he encounters. Bless his staff and increase their ability to effectively work together. May he be refreshed and his vision renewed as he takes time to relax with friends and family as fall approaches. Amen.

Mike Bernier was elected MLA for Peace River South on May 14, 2013.

On December 18, 2014 he was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for Energy Literacy and the Environment for the Minister of Environment.

Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, Mike served as Mayor of Dawson Creek. He was first elected Mayor in 2008 and was re-elected in 2011, and also served as a Dawson Creek City councillor from 2005 to 2008.

Mike is the Past President of the North Central Local Government Association. He has also served on the Peace River Regional District, the B.C. Mayors Climate Leadership Council, the Community Energy Association, the Council of Resource Community Mayors, Northeast Regional Advisory Committee, Site C Regional and Local Government Liaison Committee, Northern Development Initiative Trust, and the South Peace Economic Development Commission.

Mike has lived in Dawson Creek since 1993 and has 20 years of experience in the natural gas industry.
