Richard Feehan was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Edmonton-Rutherford. He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Resource Stewardship and was previously a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts. Richard spent over a decade teaching with the Edmonton branch of the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Social Work. Prior to this he was Program Director of the Edmonton Social Planning Council and the Vice-President of Edmonton’s Catholic Social Services. He also spent over a decade in private social work practice. As Minister of Indigenous Relations, Richard worked with Alberta’s Indigenous communities to begin fulfilling the United Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Richard holds a Masters of social work from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Bachelor of social work from the University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta. Richard was born and raised in Edmonton and he lives in the south side with his wife and three children.
