MLA Rob Miyashiro, Lethbridge-West

MLA Rob Miyashiro

Heavenly Father, today we pray for Rob Miyashiro, MLA for Lethbridge-West. Thank You for his deep roots in southern Alberta. Born in Lethbridge and raised in Taber, Rob has spent more than four decades working with seniors, youth, people with disabilities, and vulnerable families. During his work with the Blood Tribe Youth Ranch, Rob’s commitment to young people was recognized when he was given the Blackfoot name Aakaoko’si—“Many Children.” Thank You for the relationships and understanding developed through those years of service. As Rob serves in the Legislature and carries responsibilities concerning municipal affairs, give him wisdom to understand the challenges facing Alberta communities. Help him remember the individuals and families behind policies and budgets. Help him faithfully represent Lethbridge-West and build productive relationships with municipal and provincial leaders. Bless Rob, his partner, Erin, and their family. May the compassion developed through decades of community service continue to shape his leadership. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Rob Miyashiro was elected as the MLA for Lethbridge-West in December 2024. Before entering provincial politics, he served as executive director of the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization and as a member of Lethbridge City Council. His career has also included leadership roles with the Rehabilitation Society of Southwestern Alberta and the Blood Tribe Youth Ranch, where he was given the Blackfoot name “Aakaoko’si” (Many Children). Rob has an extensive history of community involvement, particularly in organizations supporting seniors and healthy aging. Born in Lethbridge, he is a third-generation Japanese-Canadian and Okinawan-Canadian. He lives in Lethbridge with his wife, Erin, and has three adult children and three grandchildren.
