Sovereign Lord, from before time began, you have known MPP France Gélinas. You continue to know her—better than anyone else possibly could. We ask today that she would be open to your leading in her role for the constituents of Nickel Belt and for all Ontarians. May she be comforted by your presence with her and your guiding hand today and every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Since being elected as MPP in 2007, France has consistently been one of the top five MPPs at Queens Park, in terms of bills introduced, bills passed, times addressing the legislature and words spoken. Formerly the Executive Director of the Community Health Centre in Sudbury, France oversaw the expansion of Health Care services to many small and rural communities. She has focused on being an effective advocate for Nickel Belt residents on important local issues, such as Health and long term care, small and rural schools, water protection, and helping small businesses. France lives with her spouse, Keith Harris, in Walden and has three children who she is proud to have raised in Nickel Belt. She also has two grandchildren. A trained physiotherapist, France is the Executive Director of the Community Health Centre of Sudbury. She also sits on the United Way’s Citizens’ Advisory Panel, serves as president of the Francophone Reference Group of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and is president of the Association of Ontario Health Centres.
