MPP Michael Gravelle, Thunder Bay Superior North

We are thankful for the people of northern Ontario who reflect strength and resilience in contributing to our province in many ways. We pray your blessing on MPP Gravelle who has worked diligently for many decades for his constituents. May he lead and serve with wisdom, faithful to perform the many duties as a Member and on various key Committees, drawing from the breath of experience you have provided to him. We especially appreciate his deep commitment to the northern Indigenous peoples, working to best serve their expressed needs to government. Bless his team and his family who provide necessary support to continue the work in the riding. Amen.

Michael Gravelle was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in 1995. He previously servedas the Critic for Northern Development and Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry and was the Minister of Northern Development and Mines from 2013 until 2018, the Minister of Natural Resources from 2011 until 2013 and as the Minister of Northern Development and Mines in 2007, and in 2009, took on the additional portfolio of Forestry. He brought forth private member’s bills which resulted in access to insulin pumps for all Type II diabetics. He is co-founder of the North of Superior Film Association, has been on the Boards of Directors for Magnus Theatre and the AIDS Committee of Thunder Bay and is active with the Alzheimers Society and the Canadian Diabetes Association. Born in 1949, Michael was raised and educated in Thunder Bay, which he’s always been proud to call home.
