Creator of the Universe and everything in it, we give You praise and give You thanks for the life of MPP Peter Tabuns. You have enabled him to serve the people of the Province according to his best ability and according to his understanding. Lord, as we end 2018, I pray that 2019 will be a year of new beginnings for Mr. Tabuns and, that it too would be a year of new and renewed understanding of who You are and how You love. Pour out Your lovingkindness and Your wisdom upon Peter, in Jesus, mighty name I pray, amen.
Peter Tabuns was elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Toronto-Danforth in 2006 and re-elected in 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2018.
Peter used to be the Executive Director of Greenpeace. He also pioneered energy efficiency in Toronto in the 1990s, often working closely with the Carpenters’ Union. Before joining Greenpeace, and increasing its profile, Peter was a City Councillor. He’s also worked in health care, doing government relations for the Ontario Nurses Association; and early in life, took an active role in the organizing drive, by the Canadian Labour Congress, to unionize white-collar workers during the 1970’s. He has an adult son, Anton, and lives with his partner, Shawn Kerwin. She’s a professor and theatre designer.
